Victim ID'd In New Haven Motorcycle Crash

A man is dead following a motorcycle accident in New Haven Sunday night.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A 23-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle accident Sunday, according to police. Gerver Sinay-Sacrapal died in the crash involving a motorcycle and a parked car at Quinnipiac and Essex streets at 6:22 p.m.

Police said in a statement that Sinay-Sacrapal was driving a Kawasaki EX400 motorcycle and traveling southbound on Quinnipiac Avenue near Essex Street. He attempted to pass a vehicle and lost control of the motorcycle.

He then struck an unoccupied parked car and was ejected from the motorcycle on impact.

An ambulance transported him to Yale New Haven Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
