Middle-Of-The-Night Sherman Avenue Shooting Being Investigated
Thursday at around 2:30 a.m., a West Haven man, 45, was shot on Sherman Avenue between Whalley Avenue and Elm Street, police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT —Another shooting is being investigated by police. Thursday at around 2:30 in the morning, police got a Shotspotter alert about gunfire on Sherman Avenue, between Whalley Avenue and Elm Street.
Cops got there and, as New Haven police spokesperson officer Scott Shumway said, secured a crime scene. They were then told that a 45-year-old West Haven man had walked into Yale New Haven Hospital with a gunshot wound and was later listed in stable condition.
Police ask that any witnesses who have not yet spoken with investigators contact the New Haven Police Department Investigative Services Division at 203-946-6304.
