New Haven Bar, Restaurant Faces Eviction

Fireside, a New Haven bar and restaurant, is in a court battle to keep its space.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A popular bar and restaurant has struggled to survive the pandemic and is now facing eviction, according to a report by The New Haven Independent. The owner of Fireside, a Woodward Avenue establishment, is in a protracted court battle over $45,000 in missed rent, water, and other utility charges.

The restaurant opened in originally opened in 1991. It shutdown in mid-March due to the spread of COVID-19. Fireside reopened for curbside pickup and deliveries in June but then closed again about six weeks later and has not reopened.
