New Haven Bar, Restaurant Shut Down Over Coronavirus Violations

Jack's Bar & Steakhouse has been closed by the city due to alleged violations of coronavirus pandemic rules.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A downtown New Haven bar and restaurant has been closed by the city's health department amid accusations it was holding gatherings violating the state's coronavirus pandemic rules, according to The New Haven Register. Jack's Bar & Steakhouse at College and Crown streets had been warned to stop having gatherings that went past the state's mandated 11 p.m. closing time.

The establishment was also cited for failure to adhere to the state's capacity limits and serving drinks to people who didn't order food.

Jack's will be closed until the owners submit a corrective action plan that is approved by the city, according to The New Haven Register.
