New Haven Man, 51, Shot On Grasso Boulevard: Police
In another of the recent torrent of shootings in the city, a 51-year-old man was gunned down on Ella T. Grasso Boulevard Monday night.
NEW HAVEN, CT — In another of the recent torrent of shootings in the city, a 51-year-old man was gunned down on Ella T. Grasso Boulevard Monday night, police said.
Just after 6:30 p.m., police got a number of 911 calls saying a man was being shot on the boulevard between Whalley Avenue and Argonne Street. Police got there and found the man with a single gunshot wound. New Haven police spokesperson officer Scott Shumway said the man was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and listed in stable condition.
The New Haven Independent reported that witnesses told police the shooter was “last seen running into the Walgreens parking lot and then entering a gold or brown colored Audi sedan.”

Over the weekend, several shootings left a number of city men injured and one dead. Shumway said that in a Friday shooting in the 100 block of Springside Avenue, 37-year-old Miguel Ramos of New Haven was killed.
