According to a news release from New Haven Police Department spokesperson officer Scott Shumway, on Tuesaday night just before 9 p.m., members of the New Haven Police Narcotics Enforcement Unit and Shooting Task Force, who were assigned to a crime suppression beat, saw a tan Chevrolet Cobalt on Blake Street, between Fitch Street and Jewell Street, with a bullet hole in the side of it. The car was "driving erratically and came to a stop in the grass," Shumway said. The driver, Shar’ron Harrington, took off on foot but was caught "a short time later," Shumway said.
Shumway said K9 Officer Prusinski and his partner K9 Bruce arrived on-scene and conducted a track along Harrington’s path of travel, where they located a semi-automatic handgun.
