New Haven Police Investigate Forbes Avenue Double Shooting

Police found two men shot inside a car; one with a non-life threatening injury and the other, in critical condition, was shot in the head.

NEW HAVEN, CT —Just before midnight Monday, police responded to a double-shooting on Forbes Avenue. One man was found with a gunshot wound to the head and the other with a single gunshot wound to his "buttocks."

New Haven police spokesperson officer Scott Shumway said police received a 911 call at 11:47 p.m. advising that two people had been shot. When officers arrived, they found "two males inside of a car in the area of 189 Forbes Avenue, the driver suffering from a single gunshot wound to his head, and the passenger suffering a single gunshot wound to his buttocks."

The driver was found "unresponsive," and both men were taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital. The passenger suffered a non-life-threatening injury and was listed in stable condition. The driver was listed in critical condition.
