NEW HAVEN, CT — The city has approved aggressive action against dirt bikes, with the maximum fine for those caught driving them on city streets, parks, or sidewalks to be raised from $99 to $2,000, according to The New Haven Independent. The ordinance passed unanimously by the city council at a Monday night meeting also includes ATVs.

The new law includes fines of up to $1,000 for first-time offenders and $2,000 for those caught three or more times.

The move comes after a year of advocacy by the police, neighbors, and others looking to stop the noisy and dangerous vehicles.
