New Haven Teen In Critical Condition Following Motorcycle Crash
A teen motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries in a weekend wreck.
NEW HAVEN, CT — A 15-year-old New Haven motorcyclist remains hospitalized in critical condition after a weekend crash, according to police. New Haven police and fire responded to the two-vehicle crash Saturday at 2:30 p.m. on East Grand Avenue between Lenox Street and Lexington Avenue in the Fair Haven Heights neighborhood.
According to police:
Prior to the wreck, a 67-year-old East Haven woman was driving a Chevy Cavalier and traveling westbound on East Grand Avenue. The teen was driving a Honda Grom motorcycle and also traveling westbound but in the eastbound lane on East Grand Avenue.

Close to the intersection with Lenox Street, the Chevy driver began a left turn to enter a driveway. The passing motorcycle struck the driver side of the Chevy. The motorcyclist was ejected upon impact and landed on a sidewalk.
Emergency medical responders treated the motorcyclist and the Chevy driver at the scene. Ambulances transported both crash victims to the hospital. The Chevy driver suffered minor injuries and has since been released from the hospital.

The motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries and, as of Monday afternoon, remains hospitalized in critical condition.
The accident remains under investigation.
