Obituary: Angel Ariel Martínez, 58 of New Haven

Angel, always the loving and devoted family man, owned and operated the former A&L Early Bird Trucking Co. of New Haven.

NEW HAVEN, CT - (From Washington Memorial Funeral Home) Angel Ariel Martínez, 58 of New Haven died peacefully on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford with his loving family by his side.

He was the beloved husband of Jeanette Morales Martínez. Angel was born in Coamo, Puerto Rico on April 30, 1962, a son of Landelino Martínez of the Bronx, NY and the late Eulogia Alícea and had resided in New Haven since 1969.

He owned and operated the former A&L Early Bird Trucking Co. of New Haven for ten years until 2020.

In addition to his wife and father, Angel is survived by a daughter, Mildred Martínez of New Haven, two sons, Luís Angel Martínez and his wife Xiomara Rodríguez of East Haven and José Angel Martínez and his fiancé Kaeila Vidro of New Haven, two sisters, Maria (José) de Jesús of Tampa, FL, and Loyda Martínez of the Bronx, one brother, Angel Rafael (Stephanie) Martínez of Hamden, ten grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his son, Miguel Martínez. Angel’s family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, April 18th from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.

A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Monday, April 19th at 10:00 a.m.

Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.
