Obituary: Richard T. Smith, Jr., 36, of New Haven

NEW HAVEN, CT - (From Colonial Funeral Home) Richard T. Smith, Jr. 36, of New Haven passed away suddenly on May 28, 2021 at YNHH.

He was born in New Haven, CT on November 17, 1984 to Richard T. Smith, Sr.,(Pam) of Orlando, Florida and Angela Scirocco of New Haven, CT.

Ricky was a gentle giant, standing over 6′ tall, he gave the very best bear hugs! He worked at various jobs over the years in the New Haven area, most recently at Town Fair Tire.

He was a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan, a love he shared with his cousin Stacey, but rival to his Dad and Aunts New York Giants.

He leaves to mourn his loss his two beautiful neices, Briana Rivera and Olivia Rivera, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends and his two little 2nd cousins Luciano and Aviana.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Henry and Patricia Scirocco, paternal grandparents, Elmer and Mary Foschini, and his brother and best friend Robert (Doggie) Rivera.

A celebration of life will be held at Colonial Funerals, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden on Wednesday, June 9th from 4-7pm.
