Police Probe Hit & Run That Killed 66-Year-Old New Haven Man

Saturday night, Gerardo Reboseno-Pacheco was hit by a car on Grand Avenue. The driver fled, leaving the man mortally wounded in the street.

NEW HAVEN, CT —After being struck by a hit-and-run driver, Gerardo Reboseno-Pacheco, 66, of New Haven, was found laying in the street with would be fatal injuries, police said.

New Haven police are now looking for witnesses to the fatal car versus pedestrian crash.

Saturday just before 10 p.m., New Haven Police got a 911 call about an "accident involving a pedestrian" on Grand Avenue near the intersection with Maltby Place, according to New Haven police spokesperson officer Scott Shumway.

When police got there, they found Reboseno-Pacheco in the street "suffering from injuries to his head and legs" He was taken by ambulance to Yale New Haven Hospital where he died.

Shumway said the New Haven Police Crash Team is investigating and are looking to hear from any witnesses who have not yet spoken with the police. Those with information are asked to call police at 203-946-6316.
