Shooting On Valley Street Being Investigated: Police

A noontime shooting in Westville left a man with a single gunshot wound. He's listed in stable condition with a non-life threatening injury.

NEW HAVEN, CT —A shooting in Westville Wednesday afternoon is being investigated by New Haven police.

Police spokesperson Scott Shumway said at 1 p.m., a 911 call was received about a person being shot on Valley Street in the Westville section of the city.

Police found a man inside a home suffering from a single gunshot wound.

The New Haven Fire Department and American Medical Response treated the man on the scene and then transported him to the hospital where, Shumway said, he's listed in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Shumway said, "Detectives are still on scene as the investigation is on-going."
