Driver Who Fled Fatal I-95 Motorcycle Accident Charged: State PD
A 19-year-old on a motorcycle was killed in the accident, which occurred in New Haven on I-95, State Police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A 19-year-old New Haven man, Ricardo E. Figueroa-Garcia, of Dover Street, was killed in an accident on Interstate 95, north of Exit 47, State Police said.
At 12:20 a.m. Saturday, Figueroa-Garcia was riding a motorcycle on the northbound side of I-95 in the right lane and a vehicle driven by Gamalier Estrada, 25, of Monroe Street in New Haven, approached at a "high rate of speed" as it changed lanes from the right center lane to the right lane, behind the motorcycle, State Police said.
Estrada's 1991, 2-door Acura Integra struck the motorcycle from behind and Figueroa-Garcia was ejected from the motorcycle, State Police said.

Estrada's car continued north and stopped in the right shoulder, State Police said. Estrada left the car and fled the scene, State Police said. Figueroa-Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene.
Estrada is charged with evading responsibility-death and violation of a standing protective order. His total bond is $1.25 million.
