One person was rescued and taken to the hospital after a house fire early Wednesday morning in New London.

NEW LONDON, CT — One person was hospitalized after being rescued from a house fire early Wednesday morning in New London, according to fire officials.

Crews responded to a fire on Pequot Avenue where there was a report of people trapped, officials wrote in a post on Twitter.

One person was rescued and taken to the hospital, officials said.
