6 Police Officers Hired In New London Under Grant Program
Six trainees have joined the department.

NEW LONDON, CT — Mayor Michael Passero, the City Council and Police Chief Pete Reichard announce the hiring under a recently awarded Federal “Cops” Grant the listed below Police Trainees, who were sworn in today at 1:00 PM in a virtual ceremony at Police Headquarters. The six Police
Trainees will begin their academy training this Friday January 8, 2021 for the next six months.

Police Trainees
Richard Perez is married and has 9-year-old and 5-year-old daughters. Richard was born in Manhattan and grew up in NY. After Highschool, Richard attended the Queensboro Community College. Prior to being hired, Richard worked for Techno Engineering as a Community Construction Liaison. Richard is bilingual in Spanish and English.

Anna “Annie” Agnew grew up in Ellington CT where she participated in a Police Youth Explorer program. After Highschool, Annie attended Goodwin University and earned and Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. Annie has worked as a Life Guard for several years prior to pursuing Law Enforcement.
Christina Nocito was born in Hawaii. Christina grew up and is a current resident of New London and graduated from NLHS. Christina has an adult son and 2-year-old grandchild. Christina has attended colleges at UConn Avery Point, Three Rivers, Southern New Hampshire University and University of New Haven. Christina has recently completed a Master’s Degree at the University of New Haven. Prior to being hired, Christina worked for Chelsea Groton Bank as a Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Manager for more than 2 decades.
Dexter Aaron Johnson IV grew up and resides in New London, he attended the Magnet High School in Ledyard and graduated in 2010. After High School, Dexter attended Norwich University and later transferred to Three Rivers where he studied Criminal Justice. After College, Dexter enlisted in the US Air Force. While in the USAF, Dexter achieved the rank of Staff Sgt (E-5), and received several awards some of which included the Global War on Terrorism, Good Conduct and Meritorious Unit Award. Dexter served 7 years in the USAF.
Nicholas Munsch grew up in Long Island, New York and has recently moved to Groton. Nicholas attended Johnson and Wales where he was a wrestler. He was employed by a professional moving company before joining NLPD.
Samuel Lindblom graduated from Waterford Highschool and attended Rhode Island College, graduating in the class of 20’. While in College was a wrestler, Samuel was employed at an East Lyme childcare center where he was highly respected.
