According to Thrillist, The Tap Room at The Griswold Inn has the distinct honor of being the best small town bar in the Nutmeg State.

The Tap Room was attached to the inn, commonly referred to as "the Gris," in 1801 by a team of oxen, rolling it on logs down Main Street. It has since become known around town and further as "the most handsome barroom in America" and the "best-looking drinking room in America," among other things.
The Tap Room is open seven days a week, featuring live music and a "spirited atmosphere" every night. In addition to a wide selection of beer, wine and cocktails, the Tap Room also serves up a wide-ranging food menu that evokes a vintage New England vibe.
