This month marks the closest Earth has come to Mars in the last 10 years, according to EarthSky. The exact date of Earth and Mars being the closest is March 30.
So when is the best time to look to the sky for Mars? Space.com recommends between midnight and 1 a.m. Monday, May 23. If you live in an area on daylight saving time, Mars will be most visible closer to 1 a.m.
