Chasing the Dragon: The Life of an Opiate Addict -- New London Police Share Video
The FBI and DEA released a documentary to help raise awareness of the opioid and prescription drug abuse epidemic sweeping the country.

The New London Police Department is hoping that by sharing a link to the documentary, "Chasing the Dragon: The Life of an Opiate Addict," the video will raise awareness of the dangers of opioids and prescription drug abuse.
Police said the documentary is a compilation of heart-wrenching first-person accounts by addicts and family members of addicts, about their experiences.
The 50-minute film, whose title refers to the never-ending pursuit of the original or ultimate high, features stark first-person accounts told by individuals who have abused opioids or whose children have abused opioids, with tragic consequences.
"Dealing with addiction is one of the biggest challenges we currently face as a community," New London Police said. "It is a challenge that requires the efforts of our community as a whole. We all have a role to play."
