College Steps Student Success at Conn College

College Steps supports students to successfully transition to college, we'd like to share these successes with the community!

Meet Maeve, a first-year College Steps student taking Intro to Psych, at Connecticut College. Maeve uses a service dog named Scott. Scott is a handsome two-year-old yellow lab. Maeve has been working with Scott for about a year and it has really helped her in her everyday life. "He's always there for me when I need him." Scott helps ease anxieties and is a great conversation starter when meeting new people. Maeve is working this semester, with her peer mentors, to help raise awareness about service animals on campus'. We’ll continue to follow Maeve’s journey throughout the semester…stay tuned!

College Steps is a nonprofit that provides customized, college support for students with learning and social challenges such as learning disabilities, autism, and executive functioning deficits. College Steps supports students, like Maeve, to achieve success in post-secondary education, work, and life.
