I-95 Lane Closures To Begin In New London
Repairs to the Gold Star Bridge will result in nighttime lane closures.
NEW LONDON, CT - A $25 million construction project on Gold Star Bridge will result in nighttime lane closures.
According to the state Department of Transportation: "Night time lane closures will occur on I-95 Southbound at the Gold Star Bridge to perform roadwork activities beginning Monday night, March 18, 2019 at 7:00pm. Crews will be conducting miscellaneous roadwork activities requiring multiple lane closures. This work will be conducted between 7:00 pm and 6:00 am nightly. It is anticipated that activities will occur each night M-F."
The I-95 Southbound Gold Star Bridge Project is a rehabilitation of the southbound Gold Star bridge structure on I-95.

Improvements include removing the road surface and existing deck membrane, repairing the deck, and installing a new membrane and HMA paved travel surface, according to the state DOT. The structure’s expansion joints will be replaced, as well as overhead sign structures.
The project is being completed by Mohawk Northeast and began in 2016.
