March for Babies Co-Chairs Announced

March of Dimes Connecticut/Western Massachusetts Market is pleased to announce that Desiree Robb, Employee Involvement Specialist in Human Resources at Mohegan Sun, and Don Trella, Director of Employee and Guest Experience at Mohegan Sun, will serve as co-chairs of the 2018 Southeast Connecticut March for Babies in May.

Desiree has worked at Mohegan Sun for five years. She is responsible for creating an engaging culture that fosters a positive employee experience. Being a mom of three has connected Desiree on a more personal level to March of Dimes mission to lead the fight for the health of all moms and babies. “There is no investment more important than our children. We invest in their development, in their creativity, in their education; above all we want them to live long, healthy, fulfilling lives,” Robb says. “The journey starts with healthy moms carrying healthy babies and March of Dimes is invested from the very beginning.”

Don has been with Mohegan Sun for 17 years, where he has held roles of increasing responsibility within Human Resources. In his current role, he is responsible for creating a special environment and culture for Mohegan Sun’s team members that keeps them engaged and helps them deliver unmatched guest service. Equally important to Don are the community involvement initiatives that he helps to oversee at Mohegan Sun, including their partnership with March of Dimes. “Personally, and I think this applies to all of our March of Dimes supporters as well, there is no better feeling than knowing you that are making a positive impact on another life. With March of Dimes, we have that opportunity to make a difference right from the get-go. What could be better than that?” Trella says.

This year’s March for Babies will take place on Saturday, May 12th at a new venue - the Mohegan Government & Community Center on Crow Hill Rd. in Uncasville. Registration starts at 9:00 a.m., followed by the 2nd annual Superhero Sprint fun run for kids at 9:30, and the walk at 10:00.
