Most New London County Schools Choose Hybrid Option

NEW LONDON, CT — Schools across the county are releasing their plans for reopening, with many choosing a hybrid model and others a full return to the classroom. Still other districts have yet to determine their reopening plans.

After originally mandating a full return to in-person schooling, Gov. Ned Lamont dialed it back to allow the local districts to chart their own courses for how and where they would schedule classes. Schools could open their doors to students so long as the risk of COVID-19 infection was "low," or "moderate" and choose between full in-person learning or a hybrid combining that and remote learning.

The following districts have chosen a hybrid model of both in-person and virtual instruction: Norwich, New London, East Lyme, Waterford, LEARN, Norwich Free Academy, Griswold, Montville, Lisbon, Bozrah.

The following districts have chosen a full return to in-person learning: Lyme-Old Lyme, Lebanon, Salem, Voluntown, and Franklin.

The following districts have yet to finalize reopening plans: Groton, Colchester, Stonington, North Stonington, Preston, and Sprague.
