NEW LONDON, CT – July 4 events across the country will not look the same this year thanks to the coronavirus. Many cities and towns have been forced to cancel the annual Fourth of July events, including New London.

The 43rd Annual Sailfest event was canceled in May.

However, Sailfest has announced that the virtual event will include:

  • Sailfest 5K Road Race- Runners sign up on-line and run on their own
  • Video performances by Sailfest entertainers
  • Tours of the Tallship Eagle
  • Video fireworks show on July 11th.

Sailfest was scheduled to be held July 10 to 12 and would have included over 200 vendors, amusement rides, free entertainment, boats and the Mashantucket Pequot Fireworks, sponsored by Foxwoods Resort Casino.
