New London Activates Cold Weather Protocol
Deep-freeze temperatures have resulted in the city enacting the protocol.

NEW LONDON, CT - The City of New London will be implementing a severe cold weather protocol to ensure the safety of our residents during the period of severe cold temperatures forecast for the remainder of the week.
The Senior Center, 120 Broad Street, will serve as a warming center for all residents during regular business hours through Friday afternoon. During all other hours and over the weekend, residents can seek shelter at the Homeless Hospitality Center, 325 Huntington Street.

Individuals in need of services can also call 2-1-1. Working with local shelters, 2-1-1 will be coordinating shelter space to ensure that space is found for anyone needing it. Please spread the word of this critical service provided by 2-1-1.
Should any citizen require additional assistance during this weather event they are encouraged to call 911 in an emergency and (860) 287-0346 for routine requests for weather assistance during this cold weather event.

The New London Police and Fire Departments will also be alert and vigilant looking for people at risk and they will assist those, in need, to areas of shelter.
