New London Advances to U19 American Legion Baseball Super Regionals

NEW LONDON, CT — New London took another step toward capturing the U19 American Legion baseball championship by defeating Niantic in a best 2-out-of-3 series Wednesday and Thursday.

Seeded sixth in the Northern Division, New London posted 6-4 and 4-2 victories, sandwiched around a 3-2 loss, to advance to the Super Regionals, beginning Saturday.

Other teams advancing from the Northern Division were Tolland, Rocky Hill-Cromwell-Portland and Avon, while Stamford, Waterbury, Stratford and Cheshire qualified from the Southern Division.
