New London Appoints First Poet Laureate
The city of New London has named its first ever poet laureate.

NEW LONDON, CT - The city of New London has named its first ever poet laureate, the New London Day reported.
Rhonda M. Ward has been unanimously chosen for this honor, according to the New London Day. The decision was made by a five-member selection committee and announced at a recent Town Council meeting.
Ward will spend the next three years promoting appreciation of poetry throughout the city, according to the New London Day. She was officially appointed by Mayor Michael Passero on Monday.
