New London Boy, 4, Hospitalized After Hit By Vehicle In Old Lyme
The boy was seriously injured and taken to the hospital via Life-Star, according to police.
OLD LYME, CT— A 4-year-old New London boy was hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle while crossing the road Saturday in Old Lyme, according to Connecticut State Police.
Police said a 17-year-old South Windsor resident was driving on Shore Road near the intersection of Swan Avenue around 5:30 p.m. The driver didn’t see the boy crossing the road and hit him in the crosswalk, according to police.
The boy “became airborne” after being struck, police wrote in the report. He was taken, via Life-Star, to Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital.

Police said his injuries were determined to be serious but not life-threatening.
The accident remains under investigation, according to police.
