New London Salvation Army Collecting Turkeys and More

The local chapter is collecting turkey, money and more for families with financial struggles this holiday season.

NEW LONDON, CT – The New London Salvation Army is working to make a difference in people’s lives as the Holiday season gets underway next weekend, The Day reported.

The local chapter is collecting frozen turkeys and chickens in anticipation of Thanksgiving on Thursday, Nov. 24, according to The Day. The collection is one of a number of initiatives the chapter has in place for the holiday season.

Turkeys and chickens can be dropped off Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon, The Day reported. The Salvation Army is also looking for volunteers to ring bells and collect money for families with financial struggles this season.
