New London's Mitchell Woods Participating in CT Trails Weekend

The Alfred Mitchell Woods hosts a walk as part of CT Trails Weekend, this Sunday, June 5, at 1 p.m. The one-mile walk will take visitors through the park and woods, which feature expansive rhododendrons.

A highlight of the walk are the recent renovations to the park, which include an central pedestrian pathway, a “Green Monster” in the Fenway Park Little League field, a cross country trial, a natural elements playground and improved traffic control with a new driveway.

Participants are asked to meet at the playground near the Montauk entrance marked by the newly constructed brick gateway at 1 p.m. Sponsored by Riverside Conservancy, the walk will be led by Ronna Stuller and Susan Munger and will be on mostly level terrain with minimal obstacles.
