Obituary: Roberta 'Robin' Mills, 65, Of New London

Robin instilled strength, pride and confidence. She was a protector, a teacher, a valued and loved confidant.

Roberta “Robin” Mills, 65, of New London died Thursday, November 22, 2018 at her residence. Robin resided in New London with her niece Katie Hazel and “fur baby” Smelly cat.

Robin was born August 11, 1953 in Middletown CT to Robert and Shirley Baxter Trowbridge. She graduated from New London High School, class of 1971 (Whaler Pride). She attended Albert Beatrice Academy of Beauty. She worked as a telephone operator, bus driver, manager at Orange Julius, many years at Dunkin Doughnuts. Most recently worked in the floral industry at Fisher Florist, where she was loved and will be missed by her dear customers and work family.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons, Shawn (Sha-Kina) Suarez Sr. and Scott (Kristy)Mills; sisters Denise Trowbridge, Deanna Weed and Robin Trowbridge; brother Al Harris; nieces and nephews Tanzy, Katie, Kris and Kyle Hazel. Her heart, soul and loves of her life…. grandchildren Shawn Suarez Jr., Tiler, Logan and Khloe Mills; her great nieces and nephews Kydel Weldon, Ayanna, Kiaisa, Kendra, Kyle Jr. and Kylee Hazel. Robins extended family of friends who will truly miss her and whose lives she enriched with kindness, caring and the warmth of her love.

True to her astrology sign “Leo” she was and will always be our Lioness. Robin instilled strength, pride and confidence. She was a protector, a teacher, a valued and loved confidant. There are not enough words, however, there are a million memories that will live on through the people she touched

A Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, December 3, 2018 at the Byles Memorial Home (99 Huntington Street, New London).
