Outback Steakhouse In New London Shuts Down

The restaurant is one of two Outback locations across the state that is closing.

NEW LONDON, CT -- Outback Steakhouse's New London location will close due to business conditions unrelated to the pandemic, The Hartford Courant reported. The restaurant will also close its Danbury location due to its lease expiring.

Both restaurants' last day of business was Monday.

There's no shortage of Outbacks in the area — you'll just have to put in some extra miles. Outback has locations in Wilton, Newington, Enfield, North Haven, Orange, Shelton, and Southington.

The Australian-themed franchise was founded in 1988 and has grown to more than 1,000 locations. The Bloomin' Onion, it's signature and immensely popular appetizer, is a one-pound breaded and deep-fried beast that the Huffington Post once called "probably the worst thing you could order," due to its high calorie count.
