Outlet Employee Helps Customers Steal $11,000 in Merchandise: Police
Police say the suspects may be from the New London County-area. They allegedly stole items with the help of a Clinton Crossing employee.
The Clinton Police Department is investigating an alleged case of organized retail theft. According to Det./Sgt. Joseph Flynn, a Ralph Lauren Polo employee allegedly worked in conjunction with four to five others who posed as customers.
From January to March 2016, the suspects allegedly stole $11,000 worth of merchandise.
"The employee worked as a cashier and would void large transactions and then place the merchandise from the voided transactions in customers'/suspects' bags and allow them to leave," Flynn said in a press release. "It was the same suspects each time. The employee has admitted to the scam but has declined to name her accomplices."
The police are attempting to identify the suspects in the photos. They may be from the New London-area.
