Sensory-Friendly Touch-A-Truck Events Taking Place April 9

The events are open to children with special needs, and their families.

Sensory-friendly touch-a-truck events will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 9. First responders are opening their doors to children with special needs, and their families.

The free event provides an opportunity for attendees to walk through emergency vehicles, build relationships with personnel and make a personal connection with first responders in an environment free of horns, lights and sirens.

The following organizations are participating:

  • Old Mystic Fire Department, 21 North Stonington Rd., Old Mystic
  • Pawcatuck Fire Department, 33 Liberty St., Pawcatuck
  • Stonington Police, 173 South Broad St., Pawcatuck
  • Westerly Ambulance, 30 Chestnut St., Westerly, R.I.

This Light It Up Blue event is sponsored by Stonington Human Services.
