Southeastern CT Judge Special Election Announced

Gov. Ned Lamont announced there will be special elections for two judge seats in November.

HARTFORD, CT – Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he is ordering special elections to fill two impending vacancies for probate judge to be held on the same date as the next general election on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.

The special elections will be for the Region 19 Probate District, which consists of Bristol and Plymouth, and the Southeastern Connecticut Probate District, which consists of Groton, Ledyard, North Stonington, and Stonington.

Both of the seats are expected to become vacant next year as the current office holders reach the mandatory retirement age. They are Andre Dorval, who serves the Region 19 Probate District, and Nicholas Kepple, who serves the Southeastern Connecticut Probate District.
