Timeline, Details On Tonight's Snow Chance In New London County

The National Weather Service says some light snow accumulation is possible for New London County. Here is what to expect.

NEW LONDON, CT — Earlier this week there was talk about the chance for accumulating snow late Friday into Saturday morning in Connecticut. However, that talk faded quickly as a strong coastal storm is largely staying out to sea and the impacts on the area are expected to be minimal.

It now appears that the storm will track at least close enough to New London County to bring a period of snow during the early morning hours of Saturday. It still won't add up to much or last long but the National Weather Service says, "some heavier precipitation bands will be possible across far southeastern Connecticut and the twin forks of Long Island, and with the colder air moving into the region a light snow accumulation of less than an inch will be possible."

"Highs today will be in the mid 40s to near 50. Lows tonight will range from the upper 20s well inland to the lower 30s across most of the area. Sunshine returns Saturday as the low departs to the east and high pressure builds to the west. Northerly winds will be strong and gusty Saturday, with temperatures near seasonal normals, ranging in the lower to mid 40s."
