35 Firefighters Needed To Extinguish Shelton House Fire
No injuries were reported in the Monday afternoon blaze, but a family of three has been temporarily displaced.
SHELTON, CT — Thirty-five Shelton firefighters were needed Monday afternoon to battle a house fire on Long Hill Avenue that left a family of three — one adult and two children — temporarily displaced, according fire officials.
The blaze was reported just before 4 p.m., and when firefighters arrived, the home was nearly engulfed in flames.
"As additional apparatus arrived, it was determined that the fire would be fought from the exterior due to the fully involved home," officials wrote on the department's Facebook page. "Several fire hoses were used to control the fire from the exterior. Once the bulk of the fire was extinguished, crews made entry to suppress the remaining fire in the home."
