Shelton's Rescheduled 4th Of July Firework Postponed Again

The 2021 fireworks display, which was to be shared with Derby, had been rescheduled to Thursday night, July 8.

SHELTON, CT — Shelton's 4th of July fireworks display, which had been rescheduled to Thursday because of inclement weather last weekend, has been canceled again due to the weather, but a makeup date has not yet been announced. Originally, the 2021 fireworks display had been scheduled for July 2.

The postponement is due to Tropical Storm Elsa, which is forecast to track close to Connecticut beginning Thursday night into Friday.

The rain date for Thursday's fireworks had been Friday, but officials from both Shelton and Derby have decided to schedule the event at a time that "does not conflict with any previously scheduled events."
