Blizzard Warning In Shelton And Derby: Here's What To Expect

SHELTON, CT — The National Weather Service has continued its Blizzard Warning for Shelton and Derby on Tuesday.

Here we can expect about a foot of snow and sleet. Winds could gust to 45 mph at times. Temperatures will hold at about 29 degrees, but will feel colder due to the winds. And Metro-North is suspending service starting at noon on Tuesday.

Today: Snow and sleet. The snow and sleet could be heavy at times. Areas of blowing snow after 3pm. High near 29. Wind chill values between 10 and 15. Windy, with a northeast wind 24 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of 9 to 13 inches possible.

Tonight: Snow showers, mainly before 8pm. Low around 19. Wind chill values between 10 and 15. Blustery, with a west wind 15 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 38 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Wednesday: Scattered snow showers, mainly after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 31. Wind chill values between 5 and 15. West wind 11 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Wednesday Night: Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 17. Wind chill values between 10 and 15. Northwest wind 10 to 13 mph.
