Columbus Day Parade Moving To Shelton
The parade is moving to Bridgeport after a dispute over police overtime costs.
SHELTON, CT — The Columbus Day parade will be moving from Bridgeport to Shelton this year after a dispute over police overtime costs.
The parade will take place Oct. 7, which coincides with Shelton Day and will help reduce police costs because police will already be closing several streets, according to the Connecticut Post.
Shelton will seek some funds from the parade committee, but not as much as Bridgeport which charged more than $7,000 last year.
