CT DEEP Temporarily Closes Shelton's Indian Well State Park Thursday

Due to high levels of bacteria in the water.

SHELTON, CT—The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection announced there would be no swimming at Indian Well State Park in Shelton today, Aug. 25.

The park's swimming area was closed due to high bacteria levels, according to CT DEEP. Inspectors were scheduled to re-test the water Thursday, so it could reopen as early as Friday.

The only other Connecticut state beach closed Thursday was Mashamoquet Brook State Park in Pomfret, according to officials.
