Derby Firefighter Injured After Caroline Street Fire

The firefighter was sent to the hospital for a leg injury.

DERBY, CT — A Derby firefighter was sent to the hospital Tuesday evening after sustaining a leg injury while battling a fire on Caroline Street.

Derby firefighters arrived to find a fire on the rear porch of a multifamily residence, according to the Derby Fire Department Facebook page. The fire extended up the back wall of the building.

Firefighters extinguished the fire in about 20 minutes. The Derby Fire Marshal office is investigating the cause of the fire.
