Derby Woman Accused Of Drug Sale In Fatal Shelton Overdose: PD

A 47-year-old man died from the July 2018 overdose.

SHELTON, CT — A 40-year-old Derby woman was arrested on a warrant by Shelton police this week and is accused of selling drugs in Shelton that led to the overdose death of a 47-year-old man, according to Shelton Police Det. Richard Bango.

Ebony Thomas was taken into custody Wednesday and charged with sale of narcotics in connection with the fatal July 4, 2018, overdose, which occurred in a home in downtown Shelton.

"Shelton Detectives along with members of the DEA New Haven office investigated the incident and developed 40-year-old Ebony Thomas of Derby as the suspect who sold the deceased narcotics," Bango wrote on Facebook.

Thomas was held in lieu of bail of $20,000, and is scheduled to appear in Milford Superior Court on March 4. Shelton police remind people that the charges in the press release are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
