Driver Killed In Fiery Crash On Route 34 Identified
Police have identified the driver killed in a fire crash on Route 34 in Derby earlier this month.
DERBY, CT — A Naugatuck man has been identified as the driver killed in a fiery crash on Route 34 in Derby earlier this month, according to Derby police.
Donald Costa Jr., 24, has been identified by the Derby Police Department and the Chief Medical Examiner’s office as the driver killed in the March 8 crash on Roosevelt Drive.
“The accident remains under investigation pending further autopsy and toxicology results,” police said on Thursday.

Costa was a Naugatuck High School graduate and served as a reservist in the United States Marine Corps, according to his obituary. Calling hours will be held at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave. in Naugatuck, on Friday, March 20.
