Driver Seriously Injured In Route 8 Crash In Shelton: FD
The crash occurred northbound on Route 8 between exits 12 and 13.
SHELTON, CT — The driver of a pickup truck was ejected from his truck and seriously injured Friday in a one-vehicle crash on Route 8 in Shelton, according to fire officials.
No other injuries were reported in the crash, which occurred just after 5 p.m. northbound on Route 8 between exits 12 and 13.
The Shelton Herald writes that the vehicle, which was driven by a 51-year-old Bridgeport resident Andres Alvarez, struck a tree and flipped over onto its side.

Initial reports claimed the truck was on fire, but firefighters found it smoking, but no fire was detected.
Echo Hose EMS Alvarez to a local trauma facility; his condition was not available. The crash remains under investigation by state police.
