No arrests have been made in connection with Saturday night's shooting death of Bridgeport resident Ivan Whyte, 23.

SHELTON, CT — Shelton police have seized "several items of evidentiary value" in connection to the fatal shooting of Ivan Whyte Saturday night, and the investigation into the incident remains "active and ongoing."
Whyte, 23, was shot in the parking lot of the Marriott Residence Inn on Bridgeport Avenue in Shelton, and his body was found next to his vehicle towards the back of the complex at about 11:30 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Details of the shooting were not disclosed, but Shelton Police Lt. Robert Kozlowsky said in a Facebook post that Whyte, a Bridgeport resident, had gone to the inn to meet a group of people.

"Officers and detectives located several individuals that were in a room at the hotel having a get together," Kozlowsky said. "None of the individuals were Shelton residents. The individuals were acquaintances of Whyte, and it is believed that Whyte came to the hotel to meet them."
No arrests have been made, and Kozlowsky did not say whether any of those people were considered to be suspects. Additionally, detectives executed several search warrants to obtain the evidence mentioned above, but the lieutenant did not say whether the searches were done on the premises or at other locations.
