Dianne: I have been doing business for 32 years and had offices in both Trumbull and Monroe. I started with Century 21 Gold Coast and moved to Remax in 1998. I have been named No. 1 in Connecticut many times, as well as in New England. I have also received memberships to hall of fame and lifetime achievement clubs for both firms.

Dianne: I was waiting tables at a local restaurant when a gentleman came in and said he had sold his property to Baker Firestone and they were going to build condos in Monroe. As part of his package, he received the first 10 condos built. He asked if I could help him sell them. I sold all 10 and got in trouble for transacting real estate without a license. We quickly remedied that situation!

Patch: If you had to sum up your business mission to a stranger, what would it be?

Dianne: I feel like I have the best job in the world. Your success is a direct result of your effort, and I get to find people the home of their dreams. My mission has always been to make my customers happy and make the process as pleasant and fun as possible. The hardest part of this job is to keep people from letting emotion color their decision-making during negotiations and home inspections.

Patch: What’s the biggest challenge or most difficult moment you’ve faced in your job?

Dianne: The most difficult moment I have ever faced is when a hostile friend of a seller broke into the buyers' new home the day they bought it. The man did not know the sale had transpired that morning and I had to get involved with the police and tell the poor new buyers their home been damaged before they even moved in. That was not fun!

Patch: What’s the most satisfying part of your job?

Dianne: Most of the time, however, I get to experience the joy of the buyers and their families in securing their new home. This is a job that I take seriously as it is probably one of the biggest purchases most people make in their lifetime.

Patch: How would you say your business or organization distinguishes itself from the others?

Dianne: Remax is the largest real estate company in the world and the agents who work there are all seasoned professionals. Most of our top agents average better than 50 transaction sides per year!

Patch: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given when it comes to success?

Dianne: The best piece of advice I ever received regarding success was to never take it for granted, no matter how many years you are in business.

Patch: Are there any new projects or endeavors you’re working on that you’re extra excited about?

Dianne: I am blessed to still love my job and look forward to each day. It is such a pleasure to have a job that helps people realize their dream of owning a home. I have recently partnered with my daughter, who has also been in business for 14 years, to further help our clients in both the buyer and seller position. As far as I am concerned, all my clients are family to me!
