SHELTON, CT — Route 8 southbound had an extended closure Friday night due to a serious crash. The crash happened around 6:20 p.m. and was closed until at least 11 p.m.
DOT recommends the following detour: Due to this closure, motorist are advised to follow the posted detour. Take Route 8 south and take a left off of Exit 13. Continue on Bridgeport Avenue for 2 miles to the intersection of Old Stratford Road. Take a left there and then a right onto the Exit 12 on ramp for Route 8 south.
