Shelton Donut Shop Closes Permanently
Owner Maria Bobotsis is closing the shop after it has stood for nearly 30 years.
SHELTON, CT — The owner of the Donut Shop on Howe Avenue announced that the shop wouldn't reopen after nearly 30 years in the business.
The building that housed Donut Shop is due to be demolished in the summer, which meant the shop would have to be closed until new construction finished, according to the Shelton Herald.
Owner Maria Bobotsis said she had considered shutting down permanently before the pandemic, but made the final decision after she was infected with the coronavirus and was out of commission for weeks.
