Shelton Fire Captain Resigns Position After Scandal: Report
John Scollin is no longer a captain at the Echo Hose Hook and Ladder Co., but he remains a member. He is currently under suspension.
SHELTON, CT — A Shelton fire captain has resigned his position at the Echo Hose Hook and Ladder Co. as he waits out his current suspension after he was accused of sexual assault, writes the Connecticut Post.
John Scollin is no longer a captain at the fire company, but he remains a member. He and volunteer firefighter Matthew Perkowski were both suspended while authorities investigate allegations they sexually and physically assaulted a woman last September.
Perkowski is a Trumbull police sergeant, and he also remains a member of the fire company. Neither Scollin nor Perkowski has been charged in connection with the incident, which is not being pursued by the victim, according to the publication.
